• Hopefully this is not in the wrong place!

Just wanted to put word out that I’ve placed a theme up ( The Privateer 1.0 ) for any brave enough to give a new theme a look / testrun.

It is based upon atahualpa, though there are a lot of changes. The primary things I placed into it that I thought would be nice are:

    • A kicker, title, subtitle, byline, summary box, above post list box, below post list box, and footer for every template type.
    • Control over how posts are displayed on a template by template basis
    • A kicker, subtitle, byline, and footer for each post. Kickers, bylines, and footers are set in the template configuration admin panel while subtitles and summaries are set on each post.
    • Page child/ancestor navigation bars
    • Styling for each page level item and each post level item from within the theme admin panels
    • Drop in custom displays, which override the postlist area of particular template pages. These have their own admin sub panels and, if it makes sense, add boxes to the post and page editors as needed.
    • Thumbnail image boxes and custom display selectors for posts.

I’ve went through it and tried to make sure that everything is working nicely ( option by option ). It is currently in use on my site. Feel free to check it out and let me know what you think.

    The Privateer Theme

The theme itself is free. I’m still deciding on which custom displays to put up free and which to put up as paid items…but I plan to put more out on a regular basis.
