If I understand it correctly, the failed orders are showing randomly and it is not something that you can replicate on your end – correct?
Normally this error means there is an issue with the credit card that was used for the purchase and failed SCA authentication.
In such cases, you can ask the customer to try the purchase again with another card. If this is something that is happening with all the orders, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status to understand how your site is configured? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

We have randomly (depend of the day) between 5 to 10 (depend of the numbers of total purchases) failed orders with this type of message “The latest payment attempt of this PaymentIntent has failed or been canceled, and the attached payment method has been removed. You can try confirming again with a new payment method. État de la commande modifié de Attente paiement à Échouée.”
In stripe logs details of these orders, we have “payment_intent_authentication_failure”
We can’t replicate this behaviour but one of our customers told us that during the checkout process, a window (the one for the SCA verification) opens and then closes immediately and the order goes to failed. He also told us that he found a 500 error on this application: https://3dsecure.ing.fr/security-means/fr/3ds/challenge/availables
We can give you “system report” but don’t want to expose it here.

I have exactly the same issue:
Stripe SCA authentication failed. Reason: The provided source has failed authentication. You can provide source_data or a new source to attempt to fulfill this PaymentIntent again. Order status changed from Pending payment to Failed.

Since this is an old thread, please create a ticket at WooCommerce.com so we can help you out. Make sure to include a copy of your site’s system status report. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it in the ticket.
