    Hello,

I just moved a site with AWPCP to a new host and sometimes getting this message that I’ve never seen before (site running with exactly same settings):

The server returned a 403 Forbidden error.
It look’s like your server is not authorized to make requests to awpcp.com. Please contact support and ask them to add your IP address 209.58.176.1 to the whitelist.
Include this error message with your report.

I contacted them and they replied this:

The message you see usually shows up when a website is moved from one place to another.
Error 403 usually means a broken .htaccess file removing it will fix the issue for you.
I also am able to access awpcp.com with no issues on my end.

I regenerated a new htaccess file with iThemes Security + permalinks but I still get this message.

Is there any additional information I can provide to them?

    Thanks.

  • Hi @dsl225,

Sorry that you ran into issues here!

I took the IP address above and added it to our whitelist. I also flushed the cache.

Try it now and see if the error persists. If it does, it would help to know when it happened (i.e. what were you doing when it occurred?)

    Please let me know.

Seems to OK now and will let you know if this appears again, thanks.
It was only displaying at the Ad Management page.

But I’m a bit confused with this message and your reply. The notice says “please contact support and ask them…” and I initially understood that “them” was the host to be notified and that’s why I provided above their reply. From your reply I understand “you” (AWCPC) whitelisted my host’s IP address – which is not the same. In that case your notification should state “please contact our support and ask to add…”, right?

    Hi John,

Yes, you’re right. We’ll add some clarifying text to that message to help avoid confusion in the future.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or issues!

    Hello @awpcp,

I am experiencing the same issue with my site’s webpage https://www.homewise.org/listings/. Please let me know if you can assist in correcting this as well.

    Thank you

    Hi @sblock,

Yes, we can help. Contact us here with a link to this forum and your IP address of the server (which you can find under Classifieds->Debug if you don’t know it): http://awpcp.com/contact/

    We can whitelist it then.
