• Hello Jacob,

Thank you for the newest update to WPPA+.

Could you please change the “Close” link to read “Exit” in the front-end upload and album edit/create dialogs?

This seems like a minor request but most themes now use the term Exit and the term Close is unexpected by our users.

Thank you again and can’t wait to try out the new functionality of the update!

English is not my native language as you know, but, to my opinion, close means something similar as shutting the curtains, while exit is something like leaving the room.

The html for the frontend upload etc is, and stays, present when you press either the Upload or the Close link; just the display state changes from inline to hidden vice versa. And this is more like opening and closing the curtains than entering and leaving a room.

However, if you have your locale in place ( i presume en-US, see wp-config.php:

    define ('WPLANG', 'en-US');

i can prepare you a language file to translate Close into Exit
Just tell me that you want it and what your locale is…

    Hello Jacob,

I understand. In the United States Exit signs are everywhere. The exit signs are in our buildings; our highways and our websites.

You are grammatically correct about the term CLOSE is a better description.

However, Exit is the more familiar and common term in our websites here.

If i install your language file to translate Close to Exit will it affect the website globally or just WPPA ???

If i just make the en_US language file, it will affect only wppa, but for everyone who has en_US as the locale.

    What about Cancel ?

    Well, i found the solution.

In the next version you can select one out of:
    ‘Abort’, ‘Cancel’, ‘Close’, ‘Exit’, ‘Quit’.

    I even got it international.

    Great!

    Thank you Jacob.

Sidebar: By the way, I like the option you provided us for closing/exiting the Lightbox.

That was a nice touch especially the international capability!

I’m sure WPPA is used throughout the World!

Again thank you! Donation is on its way.

Also by the way, you have drastically improved the WPPA plugin so that it can be used for so many situations and then, in so many countries!

That my friend is a very tall order to fill – slang for that is a great challenge – ha!

A VERY VERY useful feature was the ability to “Show settings related to:” in the Settings.

Wow this is so convenient especially since your plugin is soooooooo configurable and flexible. I use it all the time!
