[Theme Argent] Altering the image carousel

Hi all

After much twiddling I’ve managed to create three portfolio projects with Argent and have them happily displaying. However, the image carousel isn’t suitable for my work – it crops it all down to a landscape image, when I work largely in portrait as an editorial designer, and I only have three or four pieces (or less) per project, so I don’t even need a full blown image carousel.

Is there a plugin or similar that I can use to override this basic carousel to a lightbox or something?

The default carousel endlessly rotates these few badly cropped images – what I’d rather do is have each project link open it’s own closable lightbox slideshow, but Argent doesn’t seem to allow customisation of the actual project carousel.
