Theme Browser Broken – “An unknown error occured”

    Hey All,

    I just installed WP 2.8, was going great, until I could no longer browse themes or check for the newest, or basically do anything under the “Add A New Theme” Portion. Now I can extract a zip file to the themes directory and it will let me activate it, but I cant for the life of me figure out why this happened.

    I even deleted the wordpress install, and reinstalled using a differnt table prefix to make a fresh install, and same thing. The other wordpress install I created is working fine.. any ideas? It just gives me the “An unknown error occured”.

    Where can I get more info on what went wrong? are there any logging facilities i can turn on for a more detailed error?

    And now, its doing it on the other instance of wordpress, but nothing has changed there for the past 12 hours as that I was sleeping… wierd.

    Any ideas? Advice?

    Also looks like the plugin browser is pooched too..

    got the same thing right now – June 4, 2010. Can’t get any themes but the lame standard ones.
