theme built from scratch

Hi,

can someone please explain to me how or howto figure this out:

i have built a theme from scratch 8 page .psd to wordpress its up and running , tested , validated etc ..

my problem is i have built it in the php files, but what the client wants is to be able to edit the text internally on the pages..

now i get what i have done wrong , i just cant seem to find the correct information relating to howto build the pages so the header / sidebar / footer all display and then the content comes from inside ?

can someone please point me in the right direction !!!
