Theme Changing / Updating

    Simple question regarding the theme side of things. I’ve already started coding a new basic theme to edit colors and graphics for as time goes on. What I am wondering is, are there going to be many changes to the default Twenty Ten Theme, or just the way the blog is themed in general? If so, where can I find a list of what template changes have been made without having to go through each template file. (Although a change-log in and of itself would be mildly beneficial as well.)

    Hey Johanna,

    I can’t tell what the future will bring. Just one basic thing: Try to follow the codex.wordpress.com page alot when designing your own theme. All templates use the template tags so you would do fine without the twentyten theme.

    Cause the theme is new, I guess there won’t be any changes soon.

    Anything new in twenty Ten is *optional*. themes won’t need updating to work in 3.0. Not unless you want to use new features like the background image uploader or the menus.
