Theme Compatibility

I have a theme called citilights by nootheme.com with a “Go To Top Button” built in and/or plugin that came with the theme but I am not happy about the behavior.

If I were to install your plugin, will it override the current “Go To Top Button or I would have to manually deactivate the plugin or remove the code it came with before I can use yours?
