Theme Editing Unwritable

When I go to edit the theme… I get this message on the bottom.

If this file was writable you could edit it.

I think this means I need to CHMOD something, but I’m not sure what or what I should CHMOD it to. I would appreciate any advice I could get. Thanks very much.
