• Just installed the latest WP files and seem to be having issues making any changes in the editor.

Googled past results and read the forums but cannot find a fix.

The file theme-editor.php on the server has permissions 777. Ran the php code to test whether it is writeable and it comes back it is writeable.

Have no idea where to go from here so any suggestions would be grateful?

    Thanks,

    Nathaniel

Here is the generic error message when Updating any file in the editor.

Posted the error and the thread did not update so did it again, and again….finally updated and now shows the same message – sorry.

Tried to edit the post to remove them and I get sent to Support.

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas on a fix please let me know?

    Thanks,

    Nathaniel

    Any ideas of this please?

I’m having problems too, I get the following message when I click on ‘Editor’ but the template files are ‘755’.

Sorry, that file cannot be edited.

Anyone know what might cause this?

I have this problem too. And there is no help here for it. I’ve never seen this before and I’m thinking of installing an older version. It’s happening with my 2.7.1 version.
