Theme failed to update

    For the first time in years, I had a problem with an auto-update.

    It was a theme update, and after removing the old version, it failed to replace it with the new version.

    Unpacking the update…
    Installing the latest version…
    Removing the old version of the theme…
    Invalid data provided.
    Theme update failed.

    It happened in the middle of the night for me, so, unfortunately, I had a dead site for quite some time.

    Is there any reason this could happen, and should I take any precautions to stop it from happening in the future?

    Hi,

    Apologies for the late reply.

    I would suggest checking with your host/server admin as to why the update had failed. Also, check if the theme requires a license for you to update.
