Hello @vecteza, thanks for getting in touch and for sharing a recording of your experience. I’d be happy to look further into this for you. To do this, please can you share the following:
- Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
- Do you encounter the same when temporarily switching theme to a default WordPress theme?
- Do you notice any difference when following our troubleshooting steps here?
- Hhave tried to manually insert the Tag Manager code to your site instead of via Site Kit? If so, do you encounter the same as when Site Kit is placing the code for you?
Once you have shared the information I can review and share some next steps to take if needed. Let me know if you have any questions in the meantime.
Hi, i have installed the code manually and it is working perfectly, whenever we activate it through site kit or any other gtm plugin it causes the issues, i tested it by deactivating all plugins and activating default theme but the issue happening.
@vecteza Thanks for confirming this and interesting to hear. When adding the code manually, do you still connect the Tag Manager module within Site Kit? The manually placed code will be detected by Site Kit and you can still connect the module. When doing this, do you experience the issues and slowdown on your site?
It would also be great if you could still share your Site Health information as this may give an indication as to why this is happening on your site. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
Yes site slow down and features stopped working when i am connecting gtm with site kit, when i am using only manual code it’s working fine. i have also share site health info via form.
@vecteza Do you encounter anything similar when connecting any other modules with Site Kit such as Analytics? When placing the Tag Manager code on your site, Site Kit uses the recommended code for Tag Manager and so the process is the same as when you are placing the code yourself manually.
More information on Site Kit and the source code it places on your site can be found here. This is broken down into each module. While it’s expected that inserting code for these services may have a small impact on site performance, we wouldn’t expect to see the drop as you’ve shown in your recording.
If you could try connecting some other modules that would help us to see if this is specific to Tag Manager.
Thanks for the prompt response, i have checked again and i notice that there is something wrong with GTM code whenever i insert the code site starting issues, please let me know how i can share admin details you can go through it by yourself, i hope this will save our time.
@vecteza No problem at all. It’s possible that when Site Kit places the code on your site that a third party plugin or configuration on your site may be altering or blocking the Site Kit placed code. I do see that you have the LiteSpeed Cache plugin active on your site. Caching and optimization plugins have been known to alter or even block Site Kit placed code on users sites. You could try to manually disable this plugin and check back again. I’d suggest trying this with other plugins also as this sounds to be what’s happening when Site Kit is placing the code.
Any information you wish to send our way can be done so via the private form you shared above. Let me know how you get on with the above. I’d also be happy to check your source code if you use Site Kit to place your GTM code once more to see if I can spot anything.
Issues causing by gtm code, analytics and other services are not causing any problems, i have also tried by deactivating cache plugin but issue not solved. i am removing manual code and connecting gtm via site kit again for your review and sharing admin details via form
@vecteza Thanks for confirming with other modules connected. I have checked your source code and the Site Kit placed code looks as I would expect it to so I don’t see any issues there. To rule out any sort of third party plugin conflict, is it possible for you to manually deactivate all other plugins one by one and checking to see if you encounter the same performance issues?
If we can rule that out then we can continue to troubleshoot elsewhere to see if we can pinpoint the cause here. If you can’t perform the above then let me know.
i have notice another thing when i am switching my location to us or another country via vpn then site loading perfectly but not when i am using my original country location, same thing happening with our customers they reported us.
@vecteza Interesting and thanks for sharing this information. This is sounding like it may be a hosting/server issue. I’d suggest contacting your hosting provider at this stage to see if they can investigate as to why this may be happening on your website.
I’ll be happy to continue troubleshooting with you if you still encounter issues after this however I am limited to support for Site Kit and as this doesn’t look to be a Site Kit specific issue I am limited in how I can help. Feel free to let me know how you get on with your hosting provider.
If you have any further questions or issues with Site Kit specifically then please do let me know.
