Hi again. I’m grateful for the new update that allows the menus to be added without changing code. Unfortunately now that I’ve updated, the menu is appearing in two places on my home page. Any attempts to hid the second menu with CSS also causes the primary menu to disappear. It may have to do with the fact that my theme has the option of either having the menu horizontally or vertical. This doesn’t happen on any page other than the home page. If anyone has suggestions on how to fix this, I’d really appreciate it.

    Hi again,
I should have put this in the notes, but if you have already replaced your navigation code with the function listed in the manual instructions, you do not need to check “enable menu”. If you have enable menu checked and the code replaced at the same time, it will just call the function twice, hence why you are seeing the menu show up twice.

If you prefer to have enable menu checked, you will need to sort of undo what you did with the code, and replace it with your original navigation function. Otherwise you can just leave enable menu unchecked.

    Cheers,
    Stephanie

Thanks for the reply. I replaced the code in my header.php file with that of the original template script. I also tried it using the manual install script (editing the header file). In both cases, the nav shows up twice on the home page. It also appeared whether I check the enable box or not (after removing the manual code from the header file) which was weird. I double checked in a FireFox private window to make sure it wasn’t caching.

However, I did figure it out. It was an element of the page within the page builder I am using. I currently use the Divi theme by Elegant Themes. This comes with a built in page builder. One of the design elements allows you to insert a full width navigation bar. Even though I had that placed at the bottom of the page, it was causing the extra widgetized menu to appear at the top left. All’s well that ends well I guess.

    Thanks 😉
