• Hello there, i was wondering if someone on here could help me please? My theme got corrupted during an update but whenever I try to delete it and update a fresh copy of the theme it looks exactly like the old corrupted version. Right down to all the minute details and changes that I have made. I tried waiting for 24 hours before uploading the old theme and it did the same thing.

I just cannot get rid of it. There are no cache plugins on the blog. I’ve cleared the browser cache and the web hosting company does not have a web cache. I really don’t know what else to do.. It just looks like the theme remembers the old settings and looks the same when it should look like the blank template a newly uploaded theme..

    Help!

  • How are you erasing it? Did you have a child theme that you might be forgetting about? its best to remove a theme directly from the FTP if its giving you issues, make sure you enable the default (twentyeleven) first though. What kind of changes did you do, all I can think of is the database might somehow be holding onto it?

Cheers for the reply. Unfortunately my hosting package does not include FTP access. Just edited the theme via the editor. No major changes if you know what I mean. I’ll try it again now.

Is it easy to move hosting providers. I’m thinking of moving to go daddy as they include FTP access.
