• Hi,

I want to use WP as a static CMS without any blogging features, just a home page, menu and static pages. I will need to be able to use plugins like payment gateways etc., but just don’t want the site to be a blog in any way.

Can anyone recommend a robust theme for this? Quite happy to pay for it.

    Thanks in advance!

  • I took the Twenty Eleven theme and edited it and it worked just fine as a static CMS. But you need to know how to edit PHP and CSS. Or at least know how to google 🙂 But it took me about 2 days to go from stock Twenty Eleven to static CMS.

    Good Luck!

    Thanks Andy!

I just want something out of the box if it’s possible. As I say, happy to pay for a commercial offering. I’ve no time or inclination to get ‘under the hood’ 😉

    Anyone please?

    Hi aZooZa,

For finding themes, I like themesorter.com. Beware of themeforest, though, there’s a lot of crap out there.

As you look at themes to you, make sure you understand and consider the “lock-in” effect of themes. You are much better finding payment gateway PLUGIN and combining it with an attractive theme.

I like to use Twenty Eleven theme and other you can check here – puff & pie. I take me 30-35hours to work with static wordpress theme. how to edit PHP and CSS easily? Many people dont know. But some of you can share that information.
