theme support critical ??

    If I select a theme outside of WP, build a blog using this theme and then theme support evaporates for whatever reason, what are my options? Suicide is distasteful so please don’t suggest it.

    To put this another way, should I only use themes from established companies with enough internal support so that, if the leader goes elsewhere, the rest can carry on?

    In some ways, buying a WordPress theme isn’t a whole lot different than buying any other kind of product; research the company, find out how long they’ve been around, find out if there’s any external support available, etc.

    If you’re using a theme obtained from the official WP.org repository (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/themes/), then you can pretty much always post here for support, even if the company who created the theme is defunct.

    Thank you for your prompt response and I will take your advice. I appreciate the info as this is a new area of endeavor for me and I’m a real beginner.
