I had trouble with a theme so I tried to delete and reinstall, however something went wrong, the theme is not installed correctly and it wont delete from admin/themes I click delete and it stays in available themes. I need to remove it so I can reinstall properly because this is the theme I want to use but I can’t reinstall until its removed from admin/themes, any help please would be appreciated

Do you have access to your website’s files and folders?

Hi yes I do, I tried reinstalling by uploading files through filezilla, didnt fit the problem unfortunately which is why I am trying to find out how to delete it from available themes in admin

Can you remove the theme entirely from the /wp-content/themes/ directory?

Yes, have tried that but the problem is when I delete the files the theme still stays in wordpress/admin/available themes, and that’s what stopping me from being able to reinstall

sorry to be more accurate, the theme is in available themes, when I activate it, I can’t use it because it gives me error messages, it needs to be clean installed, but tried reuploading files through filezilla and didn’t change anything

It looks like you have SuperCache enabled on your site – try turning that off and clearing the cache. Make sure you also clear your browser cache.

Great, got it working now, theme deleted from admin/available themes, was able to reinstall successfully, lost 20 pages of work in the progress! but oh well guess I should have backed up, resolved 🙂
