[Theme:Delicate] Problems with special chars

Use the HTML entities. These should be fine unless your theme is stripping them out. For example htmlspecialchars() will convert the leading ampersand in an entity to its equivalent entity, unless it’s called properly.

Looking at what’s happening to your code it may well be the latter problem. But without a link to your site and a pointer to where we would find the problem, it’s very hard to say.
