Themes not loading using 1&1

I have just started my first website using wordpress hosted on 1&1. I am not able to either live preview any of the themes I have installed or activate and view them. Is there a problem with WordPress, the themes or the hosting through 1&1? All I see is the small round icon continually revolving in the centre of the screen. Help as this is so frustrating!
