Theoretically a great idea…

Update 12/15/2025: This update relates to the Multifactor login / WordPress.com login integration. Even if you click “Require accounts to use WordPress.com Two-Step Authentication”, it’s still possible to just login with the normal wp-login.php. So if you don’t test this, you might assume that Jetpack is protecting your site with MFA…where it is actually doing no such thing. This is quite dangerous when MFA is a requirement and should probably be a first priority fix.
Hosting optimized images on Jetpack’s server? Awesome! And other features sound really good too, but that this was developed by Automattic and does things like add a ton of scripts to every page, for services that aren’t even turned on, is a bit alarming. The number of 1 star reviews shows that there is still a lot of work to do. The biggest issue I have is how Woocommerce Services is now part of Woocommerce’s setup, and that plugin requires Jetpack, so tons of sites are likely to experience tons of issues and not realize that all of this is the culprit. Just spent two weeks sorting out a problem where taxes were being added, even after the plugins were deleted….and taxes through Woocommerce Services/Jetpack were never even turned on in the first place. Had to reinstall both plugins and delete them again to get it to sort itself out. 🙁
