• Hi. I’ve just tried to upgrade php from 7.4 to 8.3
    Having done a compatibility check, I’ve disabled or removed all plugins that show RED on compatibility, but when I go to cpanel and change to 8.3 (php) the site shows me the There has been a critical error on this website thing.
    When I re-install php7.4 it’s happy again.
    The theme cooooould be the issue, but I don’t know how to solve it.
    I get this on the compatibility check….

    SomethingUnderGround Theme 1

    Response status: 404

    Message: The audit requested does not exist.

    (Other (deactivated) plugins also show RED on compatibility check for PHP versions below 7.4, but I’m not running anything under php7.4 and they’re deactivated anyway)

    Please help.

    The website is happy on 7.4, but obvs I’d like to get it to 8.3 for the security.

    The reason for the error should be visible in the error log. You can find it in your hosting area. If necessary, the support of your hosting can help you.

    Alternatively, you could also enable debugging in WordPress. How to do this is described here: https://developer.ww.wp.xz.cn/advanced-administration/debug/debug-wordpress/ – also here the support of your hosting can help you if necessary to edit the file accordingly.

    In both cases you should be able to see what the cause is in the logfile.
