something is wrong with the comment form. two of them are displayed at once. 2) the listing has its own form, and it does not send the form text, after sending the text appears that the entry was deleted, instead of being published. the site is on a local host, so I can only send screenshots. tried different themes, hello, vodmart, does not help!
Hi @fedor73
Thank you so much for getting in touch.
It sounds like you may have WordPress comments turned on, as well as Business Directory Plugin comments.
If you want to turn off WordPress comments, you can do that in WordPress under Settings > Discussion.
If you would rather keep those settings for your other posts, you can turn the comments off in Business Directory Plugin under Directory > Settings > Listings > General Settings.
Regarding the issue with the form not sending messages properly and showing that the entry was deleted, please note that Business Directory Plugin does not send emails directly but passes the message to WordPress for sending. Since your site is on a local host, email sending might not be configured correctly. I recommend checking your WordPress email-sending setup and possibly installing an SMTP plugin to handle outgoing emails better.
Please check that and let me know if you run into more issues.
I see that there is a translation file “business-directory-plugin-ru_RU.po”. But the file is not picked up, why? I have everything in English. Russian is set in the global wp settings.
Hey @fedor73
Sometimes thread will get flagged by a moderator when you ask a new question unrelated to the original topic, so feel free to do that in the future.
This issue often happens if the translation files are not placed in the recommended location or if they are not loaded properly by WordPress. The best practice is to upload your translation files (.po and .mo) to the following directory:
wp-content/languages/plugins/
This location ensures that your translations won’t be overwritten during plugin updates and will be properly loaded by WordPress.
If your files are currently in the plugin’s own languages folder (wp-content/plugins/business-directory-plugin/languages/), they might be overwritten on updates or not loaded correctly.
Also, make sure that the file names follow the correct naming convention: business-directory-plugin-ru_RU.po and business-directory-plugin-ru_RU.mo.
Additionally, some parts of the plugin’s text are stored in the database and need to be translated manually in the plugin settings, such as page names, terms and conditions, submit listing messages, email templates, and form field labels. You can find these under Directory → Settings and Directory → Directory Content → Form Fields.

these are your translations, they were part of the plugin, and they are in the right place. but still there are no translations. https://ibb.co/JfTB6gD
Hi @fedor73
Sorry about that! It looks like our Russian translation is not complete, with only about 23% of the strings in the plugin translated. You can see where we’re at on this page, and we would welcome your contributions! You can learn more about that in our Knowledge Base here:https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/how-to-upgrade-a-translation-file-for-bd/
it’s not about 23% but about the fact that the translation doesn’t work! I tried to add translation lines to the existing translation via the “loco” plugin, nothing worked, and what has already been translated is not applied!
To help resolve this, please ensure that after adding or editing translations with Loco Translate, you save the changes and clear any caching plugins or server caches that might prevent the new translations from appearing.
Also, sometimes strings are stored in the database or require a refresh. You might want to try re-saving your form fields or fee plans in the Business Directory Plugin settings to trigger an update of the translation strings.
For detailed guidance on translating the plugin using Loco Translate, please refer to our documentation here: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/translating-business-directory-plugin-using-loco-translate/
