Third party extensions partners
-
Hi. This is not a support question, but a warning message. Since the release of UM 2.0, one of your third-party extension partners is no longer offering support, nor have they updated their extensions to comply with the new UM 2.0 core system. I’m talking about PlusPlugins, who offered Geolocation and Advanced Profile Tabs (among other) extensions.
Unfortunately, they didn’t upgrade their extensions, leaving many customers stranded. I waited for a reasonable adapting period, but it’s June now and they didn’t answer support tickets and their website stays static with a “Stay tuned” note at the top of their page. This was months ago and still no sign of progression.
Given the fact that I can’t use their extensions -even though I paid for them for a year- and given all the problems I had trying to update to UM 2.0, I sadly had to opt out of UM. I know it won’t make a difference among 100.000 current installations, which I sincerely congratulate you for, since the plugin is referential, and there’s a lot of hard work behind it (especially the last messy months). But, please, watch out who you are partnering to when trusting others to develop crucial third party extensions such the ones PlusPlugins offered.
