This One Form Only – Does Not Work
-
Hi!
I have been using Forminator Pro for a couple of years now. I am loving this plugin!
Over the years I have successfully made many forms and collected many submissions .
This time though, I made a new form – identical like the previous forms – but this one, for some reason, is not collecting submissions.
I compared all the settings to previous forms – they all look same. It is a mystery to me why this one does not work properly.
I would highly appreciate help.
Thank you.-

Many thanks for your kind reply and willingness to help me. Sure, here it is:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1a8HR1n3xjTXB5TPfudMVVjqnKZsE2yn6/view?usp=share_linkHello @marinawordpress
Thanks. I checked your form, and it seems to be correct (although I suggest you to change the checkboxes fields for Radio fields). I was able to submit it and get the submitted info in the Submissions page in Forminator, so the issues you are having doesn’t seems to be from the form itself.
That being said, I suggest you to first, edit the form, and under the “Settings” section, make sure that the option “Store Submissions in Database” is enabled in that form.
If that’s the case, and that form is still not storing data in the Submissions field, please try this workaround: In the list of forms in Forminator, locate this form, and click on the “gear” icon, then click on duplicate. Add that duplicated form into a page, and test the form, check if that one stores data in the Submissions page.
Kind regards,
Jair.Hi Jair!
Many thanks for taking time to reply.
This simple change – from checkboxes to radio buttons did the trick! Just changing this made the submissions work. Thank you for this solution.
May I please ask you – why are radio buttons a better option than check boxes? Should I make the same change to my other forms as well?
Also, is there a way that the person who fills in the form also get a copy of the filled in form?
Thank you,
MarinaHi @marinawordpress,
May I please ask you – why are radio buttons a better option than check boxes? Should I make the same change to my other forms as well?
The suggestion to use Radio fields was more about User Experience, as the selections were either one of the options rather than selecting 2. Checkboxes are used if more than one option has to be selected.
Seems like removing and re-adding the fields did manage to get your issue sorted. You don’t have to make changes to other form unless you want to improve user experience.
I could also notice the current version of Forminator you have is version 1.14.8? That’s quite an old version, the latest version is 1.42.2.
Please do make sure that you are running the latest version of WordPress and plugins. Do make sure to create a backup before updating the plugins.
Also, is there a way that the person who fills in the form also get a copy of the filled in form?
You just have to create a new Notification in the form under the “Email Notifications” tab when you edit the form:
View post on imgur.com
Then fill the required fields and configure the notification and under the “Recipient” tab you can select the Email field which would the field that the user fills during the form submission, so that the email would also get sent to the user who fills the form.

I hope the above helps.

Hi Nithin!
Many thanks for your over top professional and detailed explanation. I appreciate you took time to look into my form and page so closely. Thank you.
I am so glad you brought up the update question.
It is true that I have not updated the Forminator Pro plugin since I installed it. I update all other plugins regularly.
The reason I have not updated the Forminator Pro, is that I am always getting a message:
“There is a new version of Forminator Pro available on WPMU DEV. View version 1.42.1 details or login to update.”
I see that I would have to pay a monthly fee for this WPMU DEV if I want to use it and update my Forminator Pro trough this WPMU DEV.
To be honest, this has been my obstacle all this time, because I do not like to subscribe to monthly payments… I did this mistake in the past with different softwares.
I hope you understand. By no means do I want to disrespect Forminator Pro.
MarinaHi @marinawordpress,
You don’t need a WPMU DEV subscription to update the plugin to the latest free version. If you take a look at the change log here https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/forminator/advanced/, you can notice the latest free version is 1.42.2, and you can update the plugin from your WP Dashboard >> Updates without WPMU DEV Subscription.
Can you please let us know if you observe any issues while updating the plugin? If yes, can you please share a screenshot of the same?
Best Regards,
Nebu JohnHi Nebu!
Thank you for your kind and very helpful reply.
I am trying now to update without the WPMU DEV monthly subscription, but I cannot see a way to do this.
The “Renew Membership” is in red. So, when I click this link, I get page from the second screenshot.
When I click “View version 1.42.1 details”, I get the page from the third screenshot.
And finally, when I click “Install WPMY DEV Dashboard”, I get the page from the fourth screenshot.
Please see the screenshots.
Thank you for your efforts to help me.
MarinaThis is happening because you still have the Pro version, you need to remove it and then install the Free version back.
By default all the data is saved upon uninstallation but still, make a full backup, check if the Forminator settings is set to “preserve” https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/forminator/#uninstallation the data and then remove the plugin and install a fresh and updated version from WordPress > plugins > add new.
Best Regards
Patrick FreitasDear Patric,
You helped me a lot. I have simply uninstalled and installed again. Worked like a charm. Thank you!Hi Forminator team!
I am sorry to bother you again, but a new issue has come up.
So, to recap: I have uninstalled the Pro version and installed a Free version so that I can update the plugin. It worked great.
All the quizzes remained intact, and they all work perfectly.
However, the forms disappeared. They are still visible within the plugin, and they appear in the backend of my website. Meaning that when I am logged into my website, I can see a form on particular page.
But it is not visible to anyone who is not logged into the website.
Any ideas how to solve this issue?
Thank you,
