To show the portfolio, you have to create categories and subcategories, perhaps this is your problem.

you tell me that it is normal, that a plugin should through php errors ?
I created two categories and it throughs php errors around. You say I should create more, so it doesnt do it anymore. Sorry but that is not how a plugin should be.
I can show you a screenshot, where the select options in settings are in french and the text is in english. My standard language is EN US.
My problem is, that this plugin just throws errors. But by the way, nice settings site.
PS: WP 4.2.1 all other plugins deactivated
Ok, I want to see screenshots to fix the problems. If you want, I can send you screenshots too in English and without errors, on several website.
I just want to fix the problems to improve this plugin.^^

I will install the plugin in a clean wp to see what happens then.
I installed the plugin on a new wp:
Issue with php errors occurs when using [modal-portfolio]
When using: [modal-portfolio parents=”1″]
The php errors are gone, but the portfolio is still not visible, only the filter. portfolio items where assigned to this categories.
Also when editing or creating a new item there is french text beneath the main contant field:

The settings are in English.
I got the portfolio visible if I set categorie_parente. But only the picture is visible and no extra information. And when I click on the image a Screen-wide grey half transparent layer appears and then I have to reload the site to get back to normal.
As you see I would really like to use your plugin. I need a multi language portfolio which is in most portfolio plugins not included. It works with foo gallery portfolio, but there are no category filters.
So woith your sub categories I could achieve a portfolio in multiple languages.
Would be awesome if the plugin would work within a couple of days.

I have the same problem with the jQuery Effects. I tried the plugin on two new websites and I can’t see the extra informations (on “hover”) and the pop-in. I’m going to fix this problem with jQuery or CSS and I will update the plugin.^^
Thx buddy, and please fix the php errors. It seems that there is no check if those variables or indices exist.
I don’t have these PHP errors but I fixed some problems to display items when there are no settings (“categorie_parente” or “parents” for example).
I’m stupid, I forgot to put jQuery easing (jQuery Core Effects in WordPress), it could not function properly.^^
Now the plugin works perfectly on 4 of my websites, this should be better for you too. 🙂
