    Hi

Since the latest release, when adding attributes to a product, the input requires a minimum of 3 characters to search the saved attributes. This is useless for certain attributes such as garment size ie. S, M, L, XL etc

Is there a way to remove the 3 character minimum please? Or better still can it be reverted back to 1 character?

    Thanks

  • Hi @monowebdesign

As far as I understand, when trying to search for attributes, you must input at least three characters before any results are displayed, is that correct? Can you please confirm if it’s from Products“Select a product”EditAttributes, as shown in the image below?

It seems to be working as expected. Kindly confirm with us the steps to replicate the problem, for us to make sure that we provide an accurate solution. Thank you!

    Hi Darla.

The issue is that some of my attributes are less than 3 characters so they can’t be chosen. For instance if I have an item of clothing and wish to choose the size attribute ‘S’ or ‘L’ (for small or large) I can’t as it requires 2 more characters to be entered before suggestions appear.

See image below, trying to add an attribute of ‘L’

    Thanks

From what I understand, you’re having difficulty adding attributes to your products that are less than three characters long, such as ‘S’ or ‘L’ for clothing sizes. This is indeed an issue that we are aware of and I’m sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused you.

The good news is that we’ve already addressed this issue and a fix has been included in a recent Pull Request (PR). This fix will be part of our upcoming 8.0.2 patch release. Once this patch is released and applied, you should be able to add attributes with less than three characters without any problem.

In the meantime, I recommend keeping your WordPress.com software up-to-date to ensure you receive the patch as soon as it’s available. If you need any assistance with updating your software or if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
