    Hi
My site above has crashed quite a bit lately – thru switching off various plugins it seemed to point to Pixel Manager as the issue so I have restored the site and not updated your plugin to the latest version (in hope whatever is causing it will prob be picked up in a near term update). However recently I have noticed another issue on the site – I have checked with Thrive Themes and they felt it was also caused by Pixel Manager. They recorded the attached video and suggested I send it to you in hope there is something in your plugin causing this odd behaviour that can be fixed in a future update?

    Hi Peter

Another user already ran into the same problem using Thrive Themes. The problem is how the Thrive Themes editor runs their editor. It makes my plugin think that a visitor is browsing the front-end, so it outputs a number of tracking scripts. For some reason the Thrive Theme editor doesn’t ignore those scripts like a normal theme would on the front-end.

For that other user I created a script that deactivates my plugin if it detects that the Thrive Theme is in edit mode. Try it out: https://gist.github.com/alewolf/60fb98454411ddab32bcb502ac7e000b

    Give it a try.

What do you mean by that? Only when in edit mode, or also when logged out?

    Hi Aleksandar

    Thanks for your reply.

Thrive says their code is compliant with WordPress Codex and so should not be causing any issues. They have however offered to install your script for me though, to see what happens.

However I just wanted to check as I am not sure it will work as what I was getting was a complete crash of the site when the plugin updated – I have had to do several restores over the last week or so while I worked out which update was causing the problem (I have now turned off auto update on your plugins). Also, is this something that can be addressed in a future update – I would prob prefer to just leave it as is and wait for an update if it will be out in a few weeks.

While I have you there, we have seen a terrible decline in google ads performance recently – is there anything in your plugin that has been tweaked that maybe Google needs to relearn to reoptimize my google ads delivery?

Well, so is mine. Being compliant with the codex doesn’t mean that it can’t cause troubles with other plugins.

The problems you encounter with my plugin only happens with the Thrive Themes theme editor. So it must be something particular to their code which creates a conflict in combination with my plugin.

However I just wanted to check as I am not sure it will work as what I was getting was a complete crash of the site when the plugin updated

You’re the first one to report such a bad problem. It could be a conflict with another plugin (or with the theme as well). But without further analysis I can’t address this in a future update. If you want me to debug this, send me a request to [email protected]

is there anything in your plugin that has been tweaked that maybe Google needs to relearn to reoptimize my google ads delivery?

    No.

The only cases that I’ve come across recently that caused such issues with Google Ads were changes in the configuration by the user, such as activating a JavaScript optimization plugin that broke the tracking scripts. Other such problems were caused by off-site payment gateways and custom thankyou pages.

Maybe all of above is connected.

Also, I quickly checked if the Google tracking tags are injected correctly.
You’ve enabled Google Analytics through my plugin and also through Thrive Themes as it looks like: https://take.ms/4Llc6

You should disable that second GA code. It creates problems.
