have you uploaded a thumbnail image to your Post? Not a media image in the content of your Post.
I try it with WordPress 4.2, 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 the thumbnails works fine.
Can you give us more details on this error:
– WordPress Version, englisch, etc.?
– All PlugIn configurations?
– Which thumbnail you use for the post. Size, jpge, etc.
– WordPress Theme?
Can you try it with a clean WordPress Theme installation, e.g. Twenty Fourteen, Twenty Fifteen or Twenty Thirteen. Of course there is CSS wich dont show the thumbnail, but it is in the HTML code.

you have to use Feature Images or so called Post Thumbnails for this option. You can use the same image from your content or all images from the medias, but you must define it in the Featured Image box:

I did as you said. Now it shows the post thumbnails, but the thumbnails appear not correctly as I set 100×100.
How can I fix it?

I have the bug. I think its not a bug from the Widget, because you have to destingish the Widget and define it new on the same place and with the same options. Now it should work!

to use the Feature Image or Thumbnail is why many Themes use this Feature Image as cover picture for Posts.
