I have a screenshot below after updating Nextgen Gallery the edit function under manage galleries does not work.

Usually, I am able to click on “Edit thumbnail” then select the new thumb selection then click on update and it is all set.

But now I get an error “Error Updating Thumbnail”.

    Screenshot: https://prnt.sc/lg7won

    NOTE:

I tested this also in a new WordPress install with only Nextgen Gallery as a plugin same issue. Also installed it locally using WAMP and still getting the same error.

If someone could please help me.

    Thank you.

    Hi @odim

I’m wondering if both sites are on the same server.
If that is the case, this seems to be something in your configuration.

Would you mind sharing with us the information visible at Gallery > Overview > site details?

    Many thanks!

    Hi,

Well, they are hosted with WpEngine.

As I mentioned I tested it on my localhost with a fresh install of WordPress and a fresh install of NextGen gallery. I ran into the same issue.

Here is the screenshot of the overview: https://prnt.sc/lh8q4z

    Thanks.

    Hi @odim,

Thanks for providing the screen. The server details look fine.

Let’s check to see if there is a plugin conflict happening. Temporarily deactivate all plugins, then reactivate NextGEN Gallery only. Does the issue still appear? If so, temporarily switch to a WordPress default theme (this deactivation is only intended to quickly check to see if the issue goes away or is still present). If by deactivating the other plugins the issue does go away, reactivate each of the other plugins one at a time to locate the culprit. Keep me posted on your results 🙂

    Hi,

Ad I mentioned I have installed a fresh WordPress install with no plugin the only plugin running is Nextgen gallery.

Also, I am using the default twentyseventeen theme.

    1. Using twentyseventeen theme installed fresh for the sake of testing the plugin.

    2. Only activate Nextgen Gallery nothing else.

    Thanks

    Hi @odim

I noticed in one of your screenshots that you are using a PHP 5.6.36
Could you please try to adjust that to PHP version 7.2 or higher?

If the problem persists you might want to:
    – Check the browser console to see if there is any available error: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Browser_Console
    – Remove and re-install NextGen Gallery to discard any trouble during the installation.
    – Reset your NextGen Gallery Settings.
    – Enable WordPress “debug mode” and check if any error is visible: https://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Debugging_in_WordPress

    Please, keep us posted.
