Thumbnail functionality with MetaSlider

    I have no problem creating a MetaSlider slideshow. But when an article with a MetaSlider slideshow is listed on a summary page, with it supposed to have an associated thumbnail, no thumbnail appears, and the rectangle is blank (see July 20th article listed).

    I can get a thumbnail image to appear if I select a “Featured Image” in the article itself, but the result is the article will show the “Featured Image” stacked on top of the slideshow series of images in the article, which looks horrible.

    How can I just have the slideshow appear in the article itself, but at the same time have a thumbnail of an image appear in the listing of articles?

    Hi,

    This is more of a question for the theme developer but I can try to help.

    If you select the feature image, it sounds like the full content of the post is showing up.

    But if you do not select a featured image, only the truncated excerpt is showing.

    I know it might not fit your design intentions, but does anything change if you don’t put the slideshow at the top of the text? Specifically, can you add some text above the slideshow, and also add a featured image, and see if it’s generating the excerpt properly?

    Actually, I misunderstood your screenshot. The images are doubling up on the single page, not the archive (summary) page, right?

    That’s not something we’d have control over. you’ll have to contact the theme developer to see if there’s a way to disable the featured image from the single page.

    I appreciate your trying to offer help. I opted to design the pages with a static screenshot at the top (the featured image), and then 2-3 paragraphs below, run the rotating MetaSlide slideshow. Not what I wanted, but a decent alternative, which allows me to use the slideshow feature, and have the thumbnail on the summary page(s).
