Thumbnail Paging

I’m wondering how hard it would be or if there’s any existing support for using thumbnails for slide navigation instead of small circles?

I made a custom theme to use images for the page buttons but it uses the same image for all slides even using nth child, also it’s a lot of coding to achieve the desired effect for every slide..
