Thumbnail Size

    Hi,

    This concerns the thumbnails on my index page. I’m using the featured image function to output thumbnails. I’ve uploaded a few images that have a 300 x 300 px size. However wordpress is outputting the images as 300 x 198 px. I can’t seem to find the problem.

    Would someone be able to help me sort this out?

    Is there a maximum height for thumbnails in wordpress? Is this why wordpress is cropping my 300×300 image to 300×198? I looked in function.php and loop.php but haven’t found anything to change it. It’s not coming from my css style page either.

    It was in the Admin screen. Left bar.. Settings -> Media, and there they are. Thumbnail, medium, and large sizes. No file hacks, no custom size settings in the functions.php file necessary.
