• Hello,

just some feedback/question on the thumbnail regeneration. I run a photography website with >5000 images online, and I have THREE WooCommerce product images in my Media Library right now. What I’m trying to illustrate with this is that my site is centered around photos, not the shop. WooCommerce is a great add-on, but on my site, it’s really an add-on.

After I noticed that WooCommerce registers additional thumbnail sizes (that I neither want nor need), I went and disabled the cropping in the Customizer – which caused WooCommerce to begin regenerating thumbnails for ALL of my >5000 images!

Needless to say – this almost locked me out of my hosting (I found an older thread on how to kill this madness), and it is also ABSOLUTELY unnecessary to (re)generate thumbnails for thousands of images that have NOTHING to do with WooCommerce.

I don’t know if there’s a better way to do this, but right now, this is an awful implementation, and an awful experience.

Hey @antermoia! Thanks for providing us with that feedback. I think this is a very good topic to be bringing to the WooCommerce repository on GitHub. This is where the developers collect all enhancement requests.

Please open up a new issue there. Thank you!

(PS. I’m setting this topic to resolved – not because it’s a solved issue but because there is no other status we can give a topic. Thanks for understanding!)
