I’m starting to see thumbnails missing after WordPress 5.7 update. What should I do?

Hi @tonyzeoli,
I’m using the plugin with WordPress 5.7 and thumbnails show up for me as usual so that’s not likely the reason why you’re having this problem.
Do you remember what other changes were made to your website recently?
Predominantly, plugin updates as usual and all plugins worked before. I’ve been running your plugin for a year, so something just happened and I’m not sure what. I’ll check. Can there be issues with image compression plugins?
You have something on your Git that talks about if you have optimization plugins. You reference Autoptimize, but don’t offer instructions for that plugin. I’ve added the URL you posted for another referenced plugin to Autoptimize to see if I could exclude that, but usually with Autoptimize, the exclusion reference doesn’t start with a “/” and then the plugin slug.
Can you let me know exactly what I might need to do with Autoptimize?
I’m also getting that error that there’s no data so far for a few of the categories: https://bookstr.com/wellness-articles/
But the homepage is displaying a list of Most Recent, so not sure why that’s happening either.
https://bookstr.com/wellness-articles/ (wellness page with no data)
https://bookstr.com/ (home with data)You have something on your Git that talks about if you have optimization plugins.
Yeah, these plugins sometimes mess with WPP’s ability to track views. Your issue is likely caused by something else.
To know for sure whether this problem is being caused a by conflict with another plugin please follow the instructions mentioned on the second paragraph from this FAQ and report back your findings: I need help with your plugin! What should I do?

If you’re using a caching plugin on your website then that might be why. Check out this FAQ for more details: Is WordPress Popular Posts compatible with caching plugins?

Hector Cabrera. Reason: Fixed formatting
WP Engine has an object cache and we’re using Cloudflare.
But the funny thing is, it’w working on the home page and a few other pages, just not the pages in question. So it’s working, but not working.
Then, as the FAQ suggests:
If you’re using the WordPress Popular Posts widget on your site you’ll want to make sure to enable the Ajaxify widget feature to keep your caching plugin from caching your popular posts widget:
- Go to Settings > WordPress Popular Posts > Tools.
- Under Data, set Ajaxify widget to Enabled, then click on the Apply button below to save changes.
- Finally, clear your caching plugin’s cache for changes to take effect.
All that applies to WP Engine’s cache as well 😛
