Yes, I’m still around. I’ve been working on my other plugins and needing to do more of thee kind of work that pays the bills 😉

Thumbnail images is indeed a great idea, it’s been suggested a few times before, and I have seriously considered adding this feature. The main problem is that it opens up a big “can of worms” to start including options for images. There would be a flood of requests for more formatting options (size, position, style, which image to display, what to do if there is no image, etc). Although this plugin has had over 40,000 downloads and is well liked I have only gotten 3 donations in all. I am at a place in my life right now where I cannot spend a lot of time on projects that don’t return on my investment. Most of my pro bono work s devoted to my Anti-Malware plugin right now. I hope you understand my reluctance to continue development on this plugin right now.

I do however have a few options for you that might help you achieve your goal:

1. If you or someone you know can make the changes you want to my plugin so that it has the options you desire for image thumbnails, then I can check it for you to make sure it is compatible with my code and maybe even integrate the changes into a future release.
2. If you can outline exactly what image you want to use, at what size, and how you want it positioned, then I can work on a crude little hack for you when I have some time to look at it.
3. There are many other Related Post plugins some of which do already support image thumbnails. It might be worth checking them out.
