    Hi. I’m using Thesis 2.0 with WordPress and learning how to configure it with the assistance of Rick Anderson’s tutorials at http://www.byobwebsite.com. His lessons recommend using your meteor slide shows, and I’ve followed the steps to incorporate the Meteor Slideshow widget into the Thesis skin.

    It appears to be working as a widget, because it creates the necessary space for the images and includes the title of the slide show. However the slides are not displayed. I proceeded to ask for assistance from Rick and he suggested, “I believe that the problem is with the tilde ~ in your urls. The ~ isn’t being recognized by Meteor Slideshow.”

    I use the /~/ directory as a security measure… so instead of getting to the WordPress site by going to http://mysite.com/, it is actually found at http://mysite.com/~/

    Can you give me some advise how I can correct meteor slideshow so it looks in the proper directory?

    Hi Don, I have’t encountered any issues with special characters in the paths, but can’t think of any where it was used either. It might be something more simple than that, could you post a link?

    Thanks for the link Don, I checked and the paths are fine, all the scripts and images for the slideshow are there, no broken URLs.

    The issue is that you are using metadata that is incorrect. It looks like you have “MyDGadgets” as the metadata value? Try removing that and testing it out.

    You are the best! I tried looking in each slide – no metadata. I looked in the slideshow – no metadata. I checked the plugin… no metadata!

    So I continued to look in the Widgets…and opened up the controls of the SampleBox widget where the Meteor Slide Widget resided… That’s where I found the “MyDGadgets” in metadata.

    Removed the text. Saved the change. Slide show immediately started running! I’ve included a screenshot so others can see exactly what I’m talking about! Thanks so much for your time.

    No problem! I should have specified, the slideshow metadata only in the slideshow template tag, shortcode, or in the metadata field of the widget.
