Timed content does not hide
-
I have set the action to show the content
set a start date
set and end date
Timezone is right
Have set it to weekly
And set the days of the week (mon-thurs)
But when it comes to Friday the content does not switch offHave also set the end date to be well in the future.
Here is the code I have added to the above page:
[timed-content-rule id=”659″][wppizza category=”meal-deal-1″ noheader=”1″][/timed-content-rule]
[timed-content-rule id=”659″][wppizza category=”meal-deal-2″ noheader=”1″][/timed-content-rule]
[timed-content-rule id=”659″][wppizza category=”meal-deal-3″ noheader=”1″][/timed-content-rule]
Ideally I would have put screenshots on but there isn’t an option to do it.
The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Without seeing the rules in detail it’s hard to check, what causes the problem. If you want to send screenshots, you can put them to an image hoster of your choice or set up a Github repository and put the screenshots there.
You can use the parameter
tctestto check your rules manually for every date you want, also see the section “Testing server side rules” in the description.Another option is to check the rule by using the “Show Projected Dates/Times” in the rule editor. If friday is listed there as well, you know that you may have a wrong definition in the rule. For example: if you set the end date of the rule itself one or more days in the future, that means to show the content for more than day. So even if friday is excluded the content will show, since an end date of 1 day in the future can mean to show something for more than 24 hours.
Here’s a link to the screenshots:

Sorry for the delay – I am recovering from a cold :-(.
Having a look at the screenshots right now – it seems there is a misunderstanding what “end date” in the “Action/Initial Event” really means.
The start is defined as February 7, 2018, 8:33
The end is defined as Febrary 6, 2027, 9:33 PMSo this means, the rule will show the content for 9 years and not just one day. If you want the rule to apply for exactly 24 hours, set the start/end accordingly – for example.
Start: February 7, 2018, 0:00
End: February 7, 2018, 11:59 PMThis will also work on February 8, 9, 10 etc. – because the start/end date only applies to the first day and not all other days.
You can also use the “Show Projected Dates/Times” to verify the result if you are not sure, when the rule will be effective in the end.

Hi, thanks for having a look and I hope you are feeling better.
I’ve updated to take into account your comments.
I’ve re worked it rule so it should be off today.Below is a link to the screen shots of the Timed Content plugin page, the schedule, the page where the rule is pasted into and the front end page.
As you can see the 3 pieces of content are still showing.
Can you see any reason why it’s not working?

Again: I only see the shortcodes there, not the rules which are used for it.
And again: check your rules if they define a time span with more than 24 hours length. A rule which should only be active on ONE day MUST NOT define something which starts on one day but ends on ANOTHER day.
Here is a link to an image with all of the screen shots:

With this it is still showing on a FridayPS. the notify me by email function does not seem to be working?
Your screenshot still shows a rule which is longer than one day.
Start: February 12, 2018
End: February 15, 2018This makes the rule four days long: 12, 13, 14, 15
That is the reason why content will still show on Friday.
Try to set the time for only one day:
Start: February 12, 2018
End: February 13, 2018 (or maybe even the same day, just try out)And then use “Show Projected Dates/Times” to check, when the content will be displayed.
Thanks, that seems to have worked. Will keep an eye on it to make sure.
Thank you for your help. I now feel confident to use it on some other websites that i need that functionality.
