Timeout for reservations ?

    Hello Malcolm,

    having recently found this plugin, first and foremost a big thanks for this excellent plugin which covers most if not all the use cases our community theatre group has.

    One thing that I didn’t find in the docs and here in the forum was whether it’s possible to have the option to expire reservations made by visitors to the site (when configured with User Form) automatically after a certain period of time unless they are converted to sales.
    Reasoning behind this is that we want to avoid a substantial number of no-shows IF we decide to offer a reservation mode.

    What would be the best way to reflect this use case ?

    “Reservations” are intended to be used when a venue wants to take some or all payments “on the door” rather than accepting online payment. Limiting this to registered users gives control to who can make reservations. There is no “timeout” becuase these reservations are only converted to sales (hopefully) just before the performance.
    If you are concerned that you make get a significant number of no-shows then reservations are probably not appropriate for you.

    thanks for clarifying this.
    Meanwhile I arrived at the same conclusion which is why I allowed reservations only for backoffice / logged-in staff.
    For that I had a separate question (see my other post).

    Anyways thanks for this great plugin. I’m 65 % through with localization by the way)
