The QSM plugin is designed to reset the timer under the following circumstances:
- When you submit the quiz
- When you clear your browser history and reload the quiz
- When you submit the quiz, click on the “retake quiz” button.
We apologize for any confusion this may have caused. However, we are pleased to inform you that we have considered your feedback and will be introducing a feature to address your concerns in our future releases.

it seems that the issue was fixed in one of the recent updates so currently it acts as you explained.
