WordPress generates it’s own thumbnails by default. What’s it not doing that’s causing you to need timthumb?

Try contacting the theme designers and asking if they support multisite. They may have a fix.
they dont support multi-site, and the theme designer dont know about Multi site at all so he cant fix it

What you’re asking is a very complex, complicated question. If this is outside your skill set, and frankly, it’s outside a lot since timthumb is notable for being shirty with Multisite, you may need to hire someone from jobs.wordpress.net or codepoet.com
