Tiny Framework Logo is cut off
-
I have added a square logo per instructions of theme, and it looks fine in the preview window…but once I save/publish, the top & bottom edges of the logo are cut off. Not sure what I could be doing wrong (I even added a few pixels of padding around the edges & saved as a .jpg) Website url: http://69.195.124.116/~aurorao1/

Hi, thank you for trying my theme!
It is not a theme problem, but a way WordPress resizes the uploaded image. You can see real image here:
But here you can see full image:

If I would tinker the link:
Are you using some plugin for that? I never had such case.
BTW try using no-border class for images in the sidebar.
And no-link-icon for some picture with external links:
Thank you for the replies…but I’m sorry, I don’t follow you on what to do about my logo getting cutoff.
I ended up just adding more extra padding around the edges. It will do as is. Thank you.
I was wondering why the logo image was resized by WP:
Aurora-logo-95-years.jpg?resize=150%2C150Because on my sites I would get normal image without resizing, that’s why I thought that perhaps you are using some kind of plugin to resize images.
It’s good that you found working solution.
You were so great about replying to my last question, I have another one for you…I need to recreate this Link resource hierarchy in WP using your theme (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/tiny-framework-logo-is-cut-off?replies=3#post-6845879) and it seems like there s/b a much more efficient way of doing so (other than creating page after page of link lists). Is there perhaps an accordion tab plugin or the like that might work with your theme (but still be accessible)?
Are those outside links? Something like “useful links” for readers?
Then you could use links plugin:
https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/link-manager/
Results in:
chicagomuncorp.org/links
Yes, outside resource links for users. Thank you. However, when I went to download it I got this error message: “This plugin hasn’t been updated in over 2 years. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.”…maybe I’ll give it a try anyway, to see if it will still work.
Ooo…found a more recent plugin called Simple Links that says it picks up where Link Manager left off…gonna give it a try since the other one comes up as not compatible with my version of WP. Thanks. π
You see, that alert about two years is not important, that plugin is maintained by WP people, so if it is simple, it is is not needed for updates very frequently.
Tiny Framework has special page template for that plugin, maybe that new one will work too, I didn’t try.
You create an empty page, select template Links, name Links or other name and all the links will be displayed in it from the plugin.
I’m using latest WP version and it works fine.
Hello again…I have another quick question. I’m getting these little checkboxes near all of my links & photos (see: http://69.195.124.116/~aurorao1/?page_id=334 for example). I thought at first it was being caused by a plugin, but have turned each off & on, so it’s not that. Is this a feature of your theme itself? If so, is there a way to turn that off? I’m afraid it might be a bit distracting, especially since this site is being geared towards handicapped users, so I’m trying to keep things as clean, uncluttered & clear as possible. Thanks!
This “external link” icon indicates all links that open in new window. It is an accessibility feature. New windows are very bad experience for handicapped readers, so first thing you have to do – remove
target="_blank"from all the links.Please read more: http://mtomas.com/389/tiny-forge-framework-child-themes-comprehensive-guide#Links-disable-external-link-icon
I would also like to ask you to open new topic for different issues. It will be more helpful for other community members who might look for similar answers.
Thank you!
Thank you so much for your input regarding these issues w/accessible website creation…this is my first of this type, and I really appreciate the help. Btw, that is why I plan to send you a donation today. π And sorry about the multiple questions in this thread…I’ll keep that in mind going forward. Thanks again.
