• Hi,
I’m in the process of recovering a WP install from a hack/defacing.
WP is up and running and I’m using the Vantage theme from SiteOrigin.

The TinyMCE widget worked correctly before the hack, but after reinstalling it today it doesn’t load at all. I only get the extented html editor, but not the wysiwyg editor.

I’m using Chrome and the dev tools reported several JS errors while loading TinyMCE:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot set property 'selector' of undefined

    bstw.activate @ black-studio-tinymce-widget.min.js?ver=2.2.5:2

    (anonymous function) @ black-studio-tinymce-widget.min.js?ver=2.2.5:2
    m.event.dispatch @ load-scripts.php?c=1&load[]=jquery-core,jquery-migrate,utils,plupload,farbtastic&ver=4.2.3:3

    m.event.add.r.handle @ load-scripts.php?c=1&load[]=jquery-core,jquery-migrate,utils,plupload,farbtastic&ver=4.2.3:3

Can someone help me out with this?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi there,
since the site was hacked, I believe it’s possible that some files are missing or corrupted. I would recommend to reinstall WordPress file, you can do that from the dashboard’s updates screeen. It should just reinstall original WordPress files, without affecting the DB.

I did a clean install after the site was hacked. The only thing left was the DB. So that can’t be it.
Can it be a DB issue?

It looks like other users are experiencing issues with the Vantage theme (see here). Does the problem persist if you temporarily switch to another theme?

Are you also using the Page Builder plugin by SiteOrigin?
If yes please take a look at this topic.
