Tinymce sucking bandwidth

    Hello,

    I just installed WordPress using Fantastico, and in the past 48 hours the domain on which it’s located has used over 8mb of bandwidth. My stats point to the file includes/js/tinymce/tiny_mce_gzip.php as the culprit, and I’m wondering if anyone can provide insight into why this is happening and how to stop it. The blog in question is whattheblog.com and as you will see, it’s brand new – only 2 entries – and shouldn’t be close to exceeding bandwidth at this point, being less than 48 hours old.

    KWK – It’s only 8MB of bandwidth – not GB.

    You’ll need to check with your hosting company as to how much bandwidth you’re entitled to every month, but you did mention Fantastico so I’m assuming that goes hand in hand with CPanel. If so, your monthly allowance as per your hosting company contract is noted in the sidebar under: Bandwidth Usage (current month).

    Mine’s 5GB (5,000MB which as an example is approx. 65,000 downloaded pages per month) and I currently use around 200MB per month as I build my site, which is around 4 months old and holds over a dozen plugins, etc.

    So that leaves me 4,800MB per calendar month to play with.
    200MB – 5,0000MB (5GB) = 4,800MB

    Usage is expected because your computer is considered remote from the server, so every time you login to your website to build and create, you’re using some of your allocated monthly bandwidth.

    8MB is minuscule in comparison to actual daily usage you’ll end up using when you really get into building your website, and then there’s ‘real’ bandwidth usage the world will use when they view your website once its fully functional.

    If you’re truly worried – tiny_mce and your current workload is “normal” usage – then get in contact with your hosting company and ask them what is normal bandwidth usage per calendar month.
