To insert a Subscription/register Form

    Hi Guys,
    I am running WP 2.7 for my Site/blog and i am unable to find where I can insert a subscription form above the Widgets and under my Search entry details. i would like to start a subscription to a monthly news letter.
    A 2nd. question is :-
    How can I change the font size & color of my menu items (horizontal) under the Header? If I can be guided to the correct php file, that would be great!!
