I am sorry, but I wish I could rate it, but if I do so at a this point, it would be low. Let me explain some of the issues that I encountered in just 5 minutes of use.

But before doing that, let me say that your efforts are appreciated, and hopefully the development of this plugin will continue and resolve all the issues. This plugin tries to solve some Gutenberg shortcomings, like having background images on columns and groups. That said Gutenberg will have those soon out of the box, as well as video backgrounds and spacing controls (paddings, margins, etc…).

Let me start with saying that this plugin has conflicts with a number of plugins. In just 5 minutes I discovered 2 already, and I can imagine with extensive testing what the actual number would rise too.

    With this plugin:

    – When the Grids plugin is active, Gutenberg refuses to save (update) the pages/posts/cpt.

    – When Editorskit is active, Gutenberg refuses to save any custom CSS names try try to save in the “Advanced (panel) -> Additional CSS class(es) field.

Also the blocks that come with this plugin do not have any support for alignments, (wide, full width, etc…), so for fixed width themes, it’s impossible to make full width rows… unless I’m missing something, which I probably did, since I spent very little time.

Sorry if I was a bit harsh, but i tried to give a fair and honest assessment, would love to be able to give it 5 stars…

    Hi Nick!

    Thank you for your feedback!

Actually, we like harsh feedbacks and we hope to get more of them especially on that stage…

this version ( 0.1.0 ) is a beta version so we are expecting a lot of bug reports.

We will work on all the reported bugs until we come to a stable version that will be released with the tag: 1.0.0

    – We would like to ask you about the issues you have faced, are they compatibility issues only? did you face any other issues that are not related to other plugins? what about the Blockypage mode?

    – regarding the alignment support, we have included our own page templates, full width and centered, check it out here

please consider taking a deep look at the container and the row blocks, those two blocks are the main ones to use to build layouts.

I missed the page templates, thanks for that. And yes, everything else is compatibility issues with other plugins. It is so refreshing to deal with fearless developers like you… I will try another and more details go at this plugin again this weekend, and report back.

    Thanks a million.

    Hi Nick!

    New Update: v0.1.1

    – We have fixed the compatibility issue related to the grids plugin.
    – Regarding the custom CSS classes, after debugging we found out that the issue is related to the plugin Editorskit itself, please try to deactivate our plugin and add a custom CSS class to any of the Gutenberg blocks, you will find that the issue is coming from Editorskit plugin

Thanks again for your feedback, and we are waiting for more from you this weekend

    Regards

@nick6352683 @blockypage Tested on EditorsKit and seems to be working fine. As for the Classes field, it’s required to click on comma or Enter key to add items. I’ve already created support ticket to Gutenberg few weeks ago regarding this : https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/16788 . Let me know how it goes. Thanks!
