Hi @mastix,
Sorry to hear that!
To import products, you indeed need to provide the data via a CSV file. This is not the case only with WooCommerce but also for Shopify and other solutions.
Can you please let us know if you are trying to import the products from another WooCommerce site to this one or if you are trying to import the products from Shopify?
If you already had the products on another WooCommerce site hosted elsewhere, then you can use the Import Export Suite for WooCommerce to migrate or update all your WooCommerce data in one go.
If you had a site hosted in Shopify, then you can use Migrate & Import Shopify to WooCommerce to import Shopify products to WooCommerce to make the process easier.
If you creating the products from scratch, then you need to create the products via the WP-admin or use a CSV to create them in bulk.
Can you please clarify if you are trying to import the products from somewhere else or if you are creating them from scratch?
Looking forward to your reply!
Hello Sandip:
I am creating the shop from scratch. The problem I see is the lack of batch options, so you have to introduce everything manually one by one. If you have a few dozen products it might work but if you have hundreds or tens of thousands in my case (I sell images ) then this manual approach has no sense.
Yes you have Excel. You can input all the data manually and then import in Woocommerce. There are many plugins that help with that. But again in my case I have thousands of images where all the data is already included in the metadata entered in Lightroom. Then I export those to csv but matching them with links with other sheets (for example the hyperlinks of the high res images -the ones being sold- in google drive) you need to know excel in adavanced level.
Fortunatelly after 1 week of searching I found a program based on csv/excel sheets that make the move or change of data much easier (wpsheeteditor) Something like this should be compulsory in a plugin like Woocommerce as it is basic to move or change bulk of data. This is not possible at the moment in Woo and you need excel or a plugin like the one I mentioned. Or you learn excel or you stumble on the help plugin but all of this should be made much easier by Woo. Creating a shop should be easy and effective and not limited by having to introduce data manually like 50 years ago. Of course this is only my thinking but I see an improvement road in front of Woo to make the software more chewable for those that are no Excel experts.
Hi @mastix,
Thanks for getting back!

Thanks for the feedback. There are indeed a number of plugins out there that will help you edit the products in bulk via the WP-admin that will achieve your goal and I am glad to hear that you found one!
I do understand that you were not comfortable editing the product data via a CSV file and importing it back and a plugin helped you to achieve your goal more easily.
Thanks for the feedback!
This feature isn’t requested by the merchants that much because there are a number of plugins out there that help you achieve this. If this is really important for you to be in the core, can you please create a GitHub report here?
This will help us track the number of requests by the merchants and will allow the developers to look for future plugin features and improvements.
Thanks!
Hello Sandip:
Just did as you indicated and asked for the enhancement at GitHub
Thank you
kind regards
Cristian
Thanks, @mastix!
I can see the request here: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/35410
This request will be used to keep a track of such enhancement requests and will allow the developers to look for future plugin features and improvements if the a number of merchants request for the same.
Should you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to create a new support thread and we will be happy to help!
