• I have one person who comments on my blog who always goes to moderation. This person is my wife, so I know her comment isn’t spam. I do not have any keywords entered in the discussion settings, and I have the number of hyperlinks allowed as 3. She does have a website on her profile, but other frequent commenters with a website bypass moderation just fine after the first comment is approved. I have approved several comments for her, but each new comment still requires moderation.

How can I find out what is causing her comments to always require moderation?

    Thanks!

  • Hey 🙂
does your wife is able to comment on other WordPress websites?

    Keep in mind that

    1) Comments with bunch of links, keywords, and strange characters – This is the most obvious type of spam comment, and you should not have a hard time telling it apart from a real comment.

    2) Comment with a Fake Name – If you see a comment that’s being left by a person named “Best Mortgage Rates” or “Cheap Printer Ink”, then you can clearly tell it’s a marketer trying to spam your site for a backlink.

    3) Generic Comments – Often spammers rely on generic comments to bypass your spam filter. These generic comments are “Thank You”, “Really Nice Article”, or insert title of your post and make a generic statement (example: I agree beginners guide to comment moderation is essential).

I don’t see anything like that, although my wife does have an unusual name. This link will display a photo of one of her comments that is waiting moderation. https://photos.app.goo.gl/EJyezhIQhiQjVpTx2
