Too much notification per minute

    Hi,
    What’s going on?
    Receiving tons of security reports every minute, every hour… like thousands a day!
    Tried to check the notification center but couldn’t figure out where to fix that 🙁
    Please, help?

    Hi @ucan74, are you still experiencing this issue? If so, you could try enabling Security Digest when you go to Security > Settings > Notifications > Security Digest. From documentation:

    During periods of heavy attack, iThemes Security can generate a LOT of email. The Security Digest reduces the number of emails sent so you can receive a summary of lockouts, file change detection scans, and privilege escalations.

    Rapport ‘hebdo’de sécurité = Weekly Security Digest

    Hi @ucan74,

    Navigate to Sécurité > Réglages > NOTIFICATIONS, click on the Rapport de sécurité link and disable it.

    Or add the line below to the wp-config.php file:

    define('ITSEC_NOTIFY_USE_CRON', true);

    Note this is not a fix for the root cause of the issue. But it will lower the number of Security Digest email notifications being send.

    @ucan74 the code provided by @nlpro will force the notification to use WP Cron and will help with the email flood. Furthermore, this issue happens when iTSec thinks that Cron is not working properly on your site, so you might also want to try digging into that.
