Toolbar Issue with Microsoft Edge

    Hi Joe, I’m using the toolbar option on a development site and there seems to be an issue with how it is being displayed in MS Edge 14 & 15 for Windows 10. Every other browser I’ve tried seems to work great.

    What’s happening is that, the toolbar doesn’t have a background (it just uses the background of whichever element is in view at the moment) and appears to be using the standard link colors in the theme’s CSS. So essentially there is no styling to the toolbar in Edge. Clicking on the contrast or font size buttons do work, though.

    Yep. The toolbar uses different markup in Edge due to a bug in Microsoft Edge that causes an error if the toolbar uses buttons. You can customize the CSS as you wish, but I’ve chosen not to adapt it to match so I can avoid interfering with anybody else’s custom CSS for the link version of the toolbar.

    Thanks for your reply! So, is there a special class targeting Edge that would allow for customization?

    I think I actually figured this out. I see that in Edge, the individual items are just standard HTML links, whereas other browsers use buttons. Targeting the links with background colors, etc. seems to have done the trick 🙂

    Sorry to bring up a dead topic, but I had a small suggestion. It may be worthwhile to mention this issue with MS Edge in the plugin documentation. That could save you from a few support threads!
